Do you consider red velvet cake to be chocolate?
Category: QA
Where I was raised, red velvet is basically devil’s food cake (rich chocolate) that has been dyed red. However I have been told by some people that it isn’t even remotely related to chocolate cake even though they agree that it still uses a chocolate cake base. It can’t be both.
I’ve also had red velvet made with white cake which is just plain nasty. But that was a rare event because I’ve only ever seen it one time and the rest of the time you always see the chocolate version.
Devil’s Food cake is a chocolate cake but is not as rich as Red Velvet Cake. But Red Velvet Cake has buttermilk as an ingredient which makes it richer, and more moist and — different. More delicious.
Red Velvet Is deff the best and only cake i will eat. It’s deff chocolate!!
it’s actually cocoa, not chocolate. it only tastes good with the frosting though.
